Mythological divinities of healing called the elasioi were said to use olive oil as medicine. These healing divinities inspired company founder Maria Malliotaki to name her olive oil brand ELASION. Established in 1999 in Kalamafka, Crete, ELASION is a family business with extensive experience producing high quality, flavorful extra virgin olive oil.

Kalamafka is a little village nestled in the foothills of the Lasithi Mountains near Ierapetra. This is a region where some of the world’s oldest monumental olive trees are still producing olive oil, as they did as far back as the Minoan period. In 2010, ELASION fulfilled a long-term dream by opening its own bottling unit there, turning a new page for the business. The company has now been certified to operate in both the national and international markets.  

Since Cretans consider olive oil an integral part of their culture, and its healing divinity namesake valued olive oil’s health benefits, the team at ELASION aims to promote the high nutritional value of olive oil. To this end, they participate in major expositions, including Anuga in Germany, the Food Expo in Athens, and SIAL Paris. They would be happy to meet you and introduce you to their olive oil!

Product Information

ELASION offers four types of high quality, 100% Greek extra virgin olive oil made from Koroneiki olives grown on the island of Crete:

  1. Gold Elasion, with less than 0.3% acidity
  2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil, with less than 0.3% acidity
  3. Sitia P.D.O. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  4. Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

All ELASION olive oils are produced using the cold extraction method, by mechanical means only, without any refining, to ensure customers enjoy a truly healthy, flavorful extra virgin olive oil.
